July 7th, 2025 - Jubilee

Dear TNY,

I tried “Jubilee” and hard pass.

I made a mark in my copy after a page and a half and said:  This is where I would stop if I wasn’t being paid to read this.

And I wasn’t.  So I stopped.

That line was stolen from Ed who did it to Ben, Ben, who will have been dead for two years this month, a fella that you would never have given the time of day to, but was the greatest TV channel I ever watched.  He was capable of revitalizing your magazine.  He was capable of selecting and nurturing Art.  He was capable of more empathy than you have ever created.  And he was capable of making me laugh harder than I thought possible.  But you ignored him and you would have continued to ignore him had he not found the exit.  Because you only care about yourselves.
